Easter post #4. Now you know why it has taken me so long to catch up.

Well, welcome to the final installment of Easter 2011 at Casa Confident. We ate a lot, had multiple Easter egg hunts, and took lots of pictures! Our evening continued with an Easter egg hunt for the boys.

Well, for a boy named Ebin since Micah didn't exactly know what was going on this year. It is crazy to even think that he'll be hunting eggs next year.

On with the pics! (Again, thanks Aunt KerKer for the pictures!)

Ebin goes out for some eggs!

Why must Easter mean embarrassing the young?
It's just more fun that way.

My parents get in on the action of hunting eggs. I think the guys were inside eating or something.

I watch, Micah sucks his fingers.

Ebs wanted to show his cousin an orange egg he found.

KayKay and her grandkids. Surprise! Ebs smiled for us!

Ebin is really into his tractor.

Then he wanted the baby in the back where he proceeded to show Micah eggs. I hope these boys will be the best of friends over the years!

Micah wants to eat the eggs.

Ebin, Micah, & the eggs.

Mommy stops to hold Micah for a bit. Micah stops to suck his fingers.

The Easter eggs must have been scared seeing the giant child come after them.

Aw. Cousins & friends. Micah's going to join in playing with you really soon, Ebin!

Ebin says farewell. And so do we. (At least for Easter, that is.)

Hope you had a wonderful Easter!!

Easter post #3

After enjoying a fabulous lunch and wonderful afternoon with Mr. Confident's family, we headed north to spend time with my family for Easter supper. When we got there, my mom had outdone herself as usual! We had ham, dressing with gravy, corn pudding (made by me!), hash brown casserole (made by my sister!), and many other wonderful dishes. The boys enjoyed their Easter baskets from KayKay and Papa (Micah's third of the day!) as well as time playing with each other. Here are some of our pictures from the day. (Thanks, Aunt KerKer for taking the pictures!!)

Easter baskets from the grandparents.

We had an impromptu photo shoot with the boys. It can be rare to get a photo without Micah's fingers in his mouth. This outfit was made by my mom! :)

KayKay purchased this fun tractor for the boys to play with. Ebin's carrying around some presh cargo, huh? Don't worry, we only posed them a whole bunch. There was no movement of the actual tractor by either cousin.

Our first Easter as a family of three.

Hopefully Keren won't kill me for putting this on our blog, but she posted it on facebook. I figured that means it is ok. Ebin is going through a "no picture" phase right now, and he wasn't in the mood to stand and smile. So this was the outcome...

Ebs loves his cars, so KayKay gave him car candy. In true Ebin style, he didn't actually eat the candy. (He doesn't like candy!) He just played with the chocolate cars.

Micah laughing. Kind of. So hard to catch his smiles these days!

Hugs and kisses for a great Easter Sunday!
But that's not all. More pictures to come in Easter post #4.

Easter post #2

After attending the eight o'clock (whew! early!) worship service at our church, we came back where I finished up the resurrection cake. Then we headed down to Mr. Confident's family's house in Mississippi. We enjoyed a luncheon feast of smoked pork shoulder (ala Mr. C himself) and barbeque ribs. That's right! Easter barbeque! We do live near Memphis, after all. Barbeque is always appropriate for any occasion. Micah enjoyed hanging out with his three cousins, aunt, uncle, grandparents, and of course, his mommy & daddy! Mr. Confident's family doesn't really do internet pictures, so I can't show you those. However, we had a few of our family that I thought I'd share from our wonderful time down there with them.

Micah is super excited about his basket from his grandparents!
He says, "What is in there?"

Easter Sunday #1

Easter Sunday was a wonderful day at Casa Confident! I can't tell you how much I love celebrating the cross & even better--the resurrection! We had a wonderful, yet busy day. We started off the morning in our own house as Micah "opened" his Easter goodies. After taking a few Casa Confident family pictures, we headed to church followed by lunch with Mr. C's family and dinner with my family. I split the posts up into different sets of pictures because we had so many!! Enjoy post #1.

Micah's Easter basket.
(Sorry, Micah, candy is not going to be my thing. Not when you have a mom who is a teacher. Lots of books are in your future. I do apologize for this. PS I love Lifeway!)

Contents of the basket:
Max Lucado's The Three Trees DVD
Max Lucado's Hermie book
Jesus Lives! Come & See! book (courtesy of our church's Easter egg hunt)
Baby's First Easter book
Praise Baby dvd
Several eggs with not much in them
A football for my boy!

Easter Egg Hunt

Today we went to the Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by our church out at their ball fields. Mr. C works random hours, so he wasn't off early enough to attend. Instead, I went with my mom, and we took Micah & Ebin. Here are some pictures.

Micah was super tired. I forgot his stroller which was a bad mistake.
Ebin wasn't really having all the people around at first (he's shy), and this was about the best we could do photo wise for a while.

We got there early before the hunting was opened up, and Micah was heavy on my hip.
I took a little baby break with him in the grass.

Finally Ebin got into the hunt, and he was really excited about finding those eggs!

Me & Micah just having a few photos ops since he can't really do much of anything this year.

Resurrection cake & Easter baskets.

So now that I am an official certified cake decorator (I promise! I got a certificate for completing the class), I need reasons to practice my skills. I need to practice my art, try out new cake recipes, and basically use what I've learned. However, since I'd like to get my pre-baby body back at some point, I need victims to eat my creations.

Why not start with a Resurrection cake? I guess I could have made an Easter bunny cake, but quite honestly I'm not that much for the Easter bunny. Oh, don't get me wrong. We hunted Easter eggs at church, & I hate to get legalistic. However, while that is fun and all...the focus needs to be on Christ. I want Micah to learn to focus on Christ so I decided a Resurrection cake would be more appropriate for our family. I also went to some great lengths to look for Biblical Easter basket goodies this year mixed with some fun stuff. Not that our Lord isn't fun If anything, He will give you the most unexpected ride of your life if you let Him! Anyway, you know what I mean.

Here I am with the Resurrection cake & Micah's Easter basket that I decorated.
I'm somewhat Martha Stewart these days. Didn't you get the memo.
I know right. When did that happen?

Wasn't my best cake, and I definitely messed up several things that I tried to cover up.

Overall, I think it turned out pretty good! I was assured that it tasted as good as it looked.
Yeah me!
